About Dress for Success Cleveland

Dress for Success® (DFS) Cleveland is a not-for-profit organization that helps lo-income women make tailred transistions into the workforce.  DFS Cleveland is celebrating it's 10th Anniversary this year as well.  DFS Cleveland provides a variety of supportive serivces that enable eligible low-income women to get and retain employment. 

The purpose of DFS Cleveland's programming is to reduce dependence on government benefits and build the workforce, in terms of both quantity and quality of employment.  DFS Cleveland acompllishes these purposes by helping women advance from economic dependence to economic independence by first building the self-esteem that is needed ot secure employment through our dressing program.  The staff and volunteers then help clients advance their careers from entry level jobs to better-paying work through developmign basic life and work skills through the different levels of retention programming provided. 

To date, DFS Cleveland has suited 12,000 women and more than 200 women each month participate in the employment retention programs.  In 2007 alone, 983 women were suited for their interviews, and 211 became gainfully employed.  In addition to those who obtained employment thorugh the dressing program, DFS Cleveland helps over 160 active women in the Professional Women's Group Program remain employeed by providing educational workships to help develop their professional skills and personal development.  Today, many non-profits continue to face financial challenges.  DFS Cleveland counts on this event to be a huge success so that proceeds can benefit the program services offered to women in our community.
