Frequently Asked Questions

1.       What is the dress code at Bernardo Heights Country Club?

Dress Code (Attire):

1.1.   Common Sense.  In general, members and guests will be expected to dress appropriately and in good taste both on the golf course and in the Clubhouse.  Members should apprise their guests of our dress code.  In the Clubhouse, anyone not in compliance, but dressed in good taste, will be seated, but requested to adhere to these requirements in the future.  All golf course and Clubhouse dress code questions should be addressed to the Head Golf Professional or the General Manager.

1.2.   Golf Course:

2.2.1.   Men---Mock turtlenecks and designer short sleeve shirts with no collar are acceptable golf course attire.  All shirts with tails must be tucked in at all times.  Only shirts that are square cut at the bottom do not have to be tucked in.  Slacks and shorts are appropriate.  Shorts, however, must have an inseam of at least five inches and may be worn only if they are in good condition.  Men will not wear caps or hats in the dining room or bar.  Soft spikes or spikeless golf shoes only.

2.2.2.   Women—Abbreviated attire is inappropriate.  Shorts must be in good condition.  Shirts with or without collars or sleeves are acceptable.  All skirts and shorts most have an inseam of at least five inches.  Shirts with tails must be tucked in at all times.  Soft spikes or spikeless golf shoes only.

2.2.3.   Prohibited attire—Denim of any kind is not allowed on the golf course or the golf practice areas. T-shirts, tank tops, mini-skirts, spandex, and other tight fitting fabrics and clothes not in good repair are prohibited.

2.3.      Clubhouse:  The rules for attire in the Clubhouse are intended to enhance the enjoyment and comfort of members and their guests.  Standards vary slightly for different areas of the Club.  In general, casual attire, including denims, is permitted in the Clubhouse.  It is preferred that attire in the Vista Room be more dressy, although men are not required to wear jackets except for events designated formal or semi-formal, and denim is not permitted either during lunch or dinner in the Vista Room.  Men will not wear caps or hats in the dining rooms or the bar.
