For over 170 years, the Little Sisters of the Poor have dedicated their lives to giving total quality care to aged poor. In 1839 St. Jeanne Jugan, welcomed a poor, elderly blind woman into her home. Others knocked on Jeanne’s door and she could not refuse them. As our aging population continues to grow and dignity at the end of life is increasingly threatened, St. Jeanne Jugan offers herself as a friend and patron of the elderly. Her ministry continues to inspire nearly 3,000 Little Sisters in 32 countries who welcome elderly poor into their Homes. In the Chicago metropolitan area, thousands of our elderly men and women of all faiths, and nationalities have spent their final years in one of our Homes, where they are esteemed, respected, cared for and loved.
We will have a great day of golf at the beautiful Makray Memorial Golf Club in Barrington, IL (www.makraygolf.com). The event will include a 4-person scramble, box lunch and awards receptions following the golf.
